Once it gave me courage

To think someone out there

In the great beyond

Cared about me

Thought about me

Wanted me.

Now I find it boring

Not like painting your nails boring

But watching it dry boring.

It is as unfulfilling

As getting sand

When you’re dying

Of a thirst.

All the time you thought I sat here

Waiting for you

To make up your mind

I was important enough

To touch

I was caught up

In so many traps

That even I,

Sometimes,

Thought I wouldn’t get out.

Once upon a time you fed me

Something I really needed.

Today I have nothing

And like that

So much more.
