There are letters of apology

All over his floor

That he steps on

Every time he walks around.

There are so many wasted tears

Dried up on her floor

That she doesn’t notice anymore

Since her angel came along.

He flings himself around

Immersing himself in the dangerous

Doing the same thing over and over

And wondering why his life remains the same.

Her angel builds her up

Tells he she can do anything she wants

And for once in her life

She believes someone.

He finds someone as tattered as he is

Lies to her for a night

Because for him

Morality is an inconvenience.

She braces herself for the love

She always wanted

But something inside of her

Told her she didn’t deserve.

There are letters of apology

Laying all over his floor

Under his feet

To never be revealed.
